    More Auroras Several nights combined

The last week has been exceptional for the aurora. Many people have never seen the aurora borealis and I thought it would be of interest. It is very rare to have them this bright, do not count on seeing them like this if you are ever above 50 degrees north. Plus I enhanced them (saturate, sharpen); so a bit impressionist rather than true to life. Artistic license

The Aurora is sure not holding anything back in the show and the images are super.

Sleep is overrated. I there some aphorism about making digital images while the Aurora shines?

There are several places in the Yukon who run Aurora tours. How on earth they can book in advance is beyond me. We can go weeks to months with no displays like this. Even on a clear night with great displays predicted there is no guarantee. Of course the further north you go the higher the probability of good displays. At 55 degrees North (where I live) they are infrequent. North of the Yukon border (60 degrees) maybe they are more consistent.

Absolutely breath-taking. I would love to see this in person but, since I can't; your images let me experience this phenomenon vicariously.

First, thank you for sharing these.
Second, is this pretty much a static display or is it changing as you watch?

Impressive shots. Seeing something like this first hand is definitely on the bucket list. The second shot stands out.

The brightness can vary quite a bit in a matter of seconds. Depending on the display, sometimes it is quite static and sometimes the movement across the sky can be amazingly fast. Often they will shimmer and dance with rapid movements and variation in brightness and colour (green-red-violet). The variation is such that I never tire of watching.

Trevor, did it ever occur to you to use the movie feature of your camera so you can just and and wait and enjoy the show too? Does your camera has a movie feature? I must be getting ahead of my thoughts here...but these are superb shots...more please????
