Saint Martin de Re after dark

On a calm night reflections help greatly with composition around the harbour.

Three great shots that evoke a feeling of longing to be there Neville - especially in one of those quay side restaurants.

Thanks guys. This harbour town is just a great place to hang out, day or night, even when it's busy. On nights like these the images around the harbour compose themselves.

All very well taken. Having a hard time picking between 3 and 4 as a favorite.

Thanks Jim. This was our third time to stay here and I have it photographed within an inch of its life now. Planning to go back next year again.

Good place to shoot...I wonder how the owners get to their boat if located further than the board walk...do they have a remote control? Great capture! Can't find a favourite either...they are all good...

Thank you Izzie, Nandakumar and Matt for kind comments. Izzie, the answer to your question generally is a 'punt' which is a small flat bottomed rowing boat with a squared off bow.

The mooring line is attached to an endless loop and when moored the boat is secured to the weight but to access the yacht the bottom of the mooring line is pulled towards the shore.
I have also found the punt when mooring at 'foreign' harbour with the punt on an edless loop out to the bigger boat
Normally at home mooring I used my dingy. Which might be the system here in the photos.
Alternatively I saw one yacht away from home with an anchor out astern and he brought his yacht close in for access with a rope to shore.

Thanks John...I think it will be fun having a boat at this time of our lives...Neville's shots here, especially the last one, are really really good. Love those lights and reflections.
