    Hi Brian,

Just to say that your captures of the flower as always is beautiful... I adore the delicate detail you captured in the whites, naturally beautiful as flowers are.

If you could manage a less busy background (per Manfred's advice) I think it would take your flower images to another level, ie; wall hangers. I don't photograph flowers often but I think they are just like birds where a simple clean background allows the beauty of the subject to stand out. It's challenging to photograph flowers outdoors in their natural environment, and I'm starting to think that it is easier to find a place that allows for a simple background and choose the flower in that area, instead of choosing the flower and trying to work around a busy background. Birds are easier in one way because if one is patient sometimes they land in a nicer area.

PS My husband just saw your flower and said it was beautiful! I agree, but I still think simpler backgrounds is something worth striving for...

i'm working on the background idea. My usual solution is to have a short DOF to blur it buit these flowers are deep. But I am looking for the compromise that works.

Exposure is spot on and the whites are white. So a definite improvement. I agree with Christina on the BG but as it is, you could improve is even more (if you have the software), by just taking down the lighter areas and adding a gentle vignette.

You have, as I see it, three options...
vegetation pruning/draping a colored cloth to hide it/various PP methods.

Vignette I can do but I am unsure what you mean by 'taking down the lighter areas'?

Strangely enough i was just listening to a Christmas concert and was wondering about how to arrange a cream coloured portable bg.
