    Purple Haze...

Went to shoot the sunrise at this location this morning, but came away with this instead.

Obviously shot before the sun had risen... quite am eerie place to be at this time.

Also here is a really bad iphone shot of my setup

    Purple Haze...

    And the image...

    Purple Haze...

I've make a couple of edits, I think I prefer this one:

Thanks Nandakumar, we're having a lot of misty mornings here lately and I prefer the pastel look when processing these types of images. Its not my normal style by any means.

Matt, I prefer your first version. The edited picture is probably better technically. The first version however has a dreamlike quality that I really like.

Thanks Ole, I think I'm going to try for something in between them both.

Eerie indeed. At least that's the feel that you captured. Nicely done.

I agree that image #1 is more dreamlike and I like that quality quite a bit. Both are nice but, #1 is my favorite.

Golly, now that sure was worth getting out of bed early for!
Terrific work indeed, now tell us the secret of how you got the fence to curve in that most appealing way?

I guess I'm lucky the farmer is no good at laying fences in a straight line, either that or he had a few whiskey's before doing it!

I think the first one would be my approach but the second one is more consistent with your typical style.

Matt what an interesting tripod positioning, in the first one ! I'm not sure it's a good idea, especially if you experience a "Donald Moment" Purple Haze...
Both of the other two images look good to me I personally would find it difficult to choose between them.

First one for me Matt with perhaps a slightly lighter sky as per the second. It's a good comp as well in the way you have used the fence.

Thanks John, thats what I have ultimately gone for.

I have photographed this scene a few times at different times of the day, I am looking forward to capturing it in Autumn and Winter.

    I agree Matt.

Very nice image. The fence adds so much to this shot. It just leads your eyes to the horizon.
