Just some observations from my beach chair with the Canon G12.

Nice Kay, I'm planning on shooting some surfers soon, what lens did you use?

I have seen quite a few of those surf schools over there too...then they go to the water and some are still scared and some are more daring than others...these shots tell the story of that in the last shot I think...Your photographer shot is using a Canon...great captures!

    Hi Matt
Whilst away, I've only got my 1 sz fits all, 18-270, which is ok, but not ideal.
If I'm on a serious surf shoot, I use either a 70-200 with extender which is the longest combo I have.
I also try to get some views from the beach, but then also from above looking down, if there are any handy vantage points such as cliffs around.

I always enjoy looking at these 'slice-of-life' type pictures, where I get to see other people just going about their lives in various ways. Great.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It is a lovely spot here John, we're not very adventurous travellers so it's lucky that Australia & NZ have so much to offer.
