Stac Pollaidh & Cul Beag: Layers in Landscapes

In my last thread, here, Mike commented upon liking landscapes in which there are layers.

Well, here's another one. Without consciously seeking to do so, I seem to 'see' images in which there are these layers. Another that falls into that category was this one.

Not sure which I'm more in awe of; the photograph, or the subject of the photograph. In either case, one word: Stunning.
And that goes with the other three(?) B&Ws you've recently posted. However beautiful and mystical Scotland may be you seem to have captured its essence. I may skip a future trip to Ireland and instead visit Scotland.

Donald, I'm liking this one the bestest.
Jack, I might suggest using Donald as a guide.

Donald, to have been there and see was a blessing. Your capture and the way it is presented is a blessing for us. (I know, over the top...., but this is an image I can only respond to emotionally.)

For me, it is a stunning image with a magical luminance and drama, that puts it into a class I aspire to create, but have never yet achieved.

Thank you for the above thoughts and comments.

I'm glad the image has struck an emotion for some people. On social media, in relation to my photography, I wrote that I know enough about the technical stuff to get me by, but I'm not that interested in it (there are discussions that take place on here that are way over my technical head). My photography is all about feeling and emotion. If I don't feel a strong emotion as I look at the composition through the viewfinder or on the screen, then there's no point in squeezing the shutter.

Totally agree, I still have most of the technical stuff to learn, but I'm not that interested in it... I just love making images that I like.

    Thanks, Matt.

And, by the way, well done last night (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/34350871). Tremendous result for Wales. We're going good, but it's the 'boks next Saturday. That will tell us how much we've improved.

I went to a pub to watch the game and it was an amazing atmosphere... you could of sworn we won the World Cup! South Africa will be a tough game but I will be supporting the Scots!

Don't short change yourself..... do both!

Hint.... you can cross to Ireland from Scotland by car ferry from Stranraer to Larne in a couple of hours.
