Just got back from a week in Central Australia around the Alice Springs - Uluru area. Thought I would post a couple of shots which show just how red everything is.

The third one is a beautiful example of appropriately including people in a landscape shot. Just imagine it without the people. We wouldn't know the sense of scale or how awe-inspiring the location is.

Dave...NT is a beautiful area...especially if you kept close to Alice Springs. Did you get to climb Uluru? I've only got to see it from afar... Nice series especially the last one. I love the colour and the texture and the huge-ness of the rocks.

Thank you John, Binnur, Paul, Richard, Martin Graham, Donald, Izzie and John (2). It was an unforgettable trip and it does have to be seen to be fully appreciated.

Yes Martin the light is tricky with these chasms but thanks to the 14EV dynamic range of my Nikon D610 I managed to get by without exposure blending !

Donald as you can imagine, it's very difficult to get a clear shot with some of these sights as there are visitors there all the time. But I wasn't too concerned for the reason you mentioned and also the simple human interest factor too.

Izzie you wouldn't get me climbing Uluru - it's way too steep and dangerous. There is a set of posts and chains to assist climbers up the steepest part but there have been a significant number of lives lost in this pursuit. Besides, the traditional owners of the land prefer that you don't climb, even though it is still "legal".
