    An Spinc, Glendalough, Co.Wicklow

Landscape in portrait orientation. Not sure why this seemed to work as a composition, but it just looked right to me. The timber walkway, to help prevent damage to the terrain on this very popular route, is made from disused railway sleepers. This was a disappointingly overcast day but the absence of deep shadows can make it easier to pick out detail while keeping it looking natural.

Unfortunately as it's posted at 1600 pixels on the long edge and the Lightbox is still not working, it's impossible to see the image in one view. Need to take it down below 1000 pixels to fit on the screen.

I like that. I don't think there is anything against the idea of a landscape in a portrait orientation. There are times when it is the right way to present an image. And this is one of those times.

What a clever way to recycle railway sleepers! It is a beautiful scene, Neville...even a cloudy day brings such treasures to remember. Scrolling through the first, even the second one, I am thinking that if this is mine, I can cut this in half and still have two shots worth saving...

Oh, by the way, I'd clone out that little rock (??) near the sleeper.

I like the lines. they all lead you deeper into the image

.JMH and just my own preference - what would happen if you decreased the brightness just a tad?

Very nice shot Neville, I would also crop out the rock/object.
