    Re: Sol-Lun

    Hi Jeff,

    Nice combination and composition.

I have one small suggestion, I was initially confused by what turned out to be the bench with people sitting on. The cause of my confusion is that there is something in the distant water that is 'touching' the bench, so it looks (to me) like we have a foreground object apparently supported by a 'leg' buried in the water some considerable distance away.

If the shot were mine, I would definitely clone out that thing - person or post, I can't determine what it is.

    HTH, Dave

Good spot! Those were people walking on the beach. I cloned them out and it makes for a cleaner photo I think.....Thanks!

    Hi Jeff,

    Wow, that was quick!

If mine, I might well have left two (or even three) people on the beach for added human interest and scale.

    Cheers, Dave

Yup, let's call it artistic licence.

I like this image...whether it is a composite or not...I particularly like the contrail pointing to the moon...

Got that Rachel? composite...as to Dave's "artistic license..."

Just havin' a little fun here. I just had to do something with that moon I had from the eclipse. Boy I sure learned what Not to do that night! Ha.

    Re: Sol-Lun

    The moon is certainly beautiful

Some years ago an 'acquaintance' of mine who at the time was doing a photography course told me that his teacher had told him that it was almost impossible to get the moon and the scenery right in the same photo and that most of the nice moon photos you see are actually composites.

It occurs to me that I've spent much of the intervening years trying to prove that acquaintance wrong....

    Ho hum.
