    Is this to your taste?

    C&C appreciated

PS. The image looks better on a white BG but I didn't want to add a thick white frame to the image as a seperation from the dark BG as the lightbox doesn't work and the image would look really small with thick borders.

From a composition standpoint, I like it from a processing standpoint, I find it needs a bit of a tweak. The exposure looks good too.

If I look at the histogram of this image, it does not show any pure white values and any pure black ones, which in reality is not the case in a scene that is backlit and has specular highlights.

I like the pattern created by the reeds and the implied movement, however the reflected light is a bit of a distraction, it's a little bit too equal in terms of radiance; if the upper portion was decreased in intensity it would help somewhat.

Thanks for commenting Manfred I see your point but my goal wasn't to create a technically correct image, for me it is an image about feelings and IMO if I added some contrast to the image it wouldn't have the same effect.

Hi John. The reflected light is not intense on the upper side,it is intense in the lower side. I might reduce the intensity to see how it works. Thanks for the comments

Yes, I love it as it is, it looks soft and not quite real. I think it would lose that if it had more defined blacks and whites.

It's interesting to see sometimes in threads here the difference ways we all have of looking at the same picture, the different notions we have of what makes a good photo. This one to me is beautiful

I just love it. If it was mine, it would go in a frame and hang on the wall in my office.

There's a hazy, dream like quality to this image which, in my opinion works very, very well. However, if you haven't, I might suggest playing with mid-range curves a bit. In any event I think you've ended up with a great image: print and hang.

Hi Jack, I'm glad that you like my interpretation I haven't played with the midtones because I didn't want the mood to get effected , but may be applying it only on some parts of the photo with a brush without spoiling the hazy look might work . Thanks for the suggestion.

I downloaded it to check if it was true what my eyes saw, it's a little red. I don't know if you change that if it will be better. It's a nice tender image.

By accident in my search to the histogram tool I mirrored it and it feels much stronger. I must find out for myself why.

Hi George, thanks for looking and liking the image The color comes from the toning effect in SEP2 , first I tried neutral BnW toning but the image didn't look so tender and dreamlike , then I decided to use this toning effect.

It reminded me of something so I went looking.

It reminds me of Yvonne Coombers paintings...

Dir you have a look at the mirrored picture? The movement in your picture is to the left, if you mirror it, it's to the right.

Hi again George I have just tried it but I think my eyes are used to the original and the flipped one didn't appeal to me that much.

    Hi Binnur

It certainly is to my taste ! Very nice indeed, a very original piece of art.
