Woke up Tuesday, 9/21 to a southerly wind, not a problem as I was headed North. I surfed the lake to the next portage. I had about half of my gear across the portage when I realized that my portage yoke and fishing rod back at the previous campsitePortaged it all back and headed back into the wind. The wind had built to 20 mph sustained winds with 40 mph gusts. I found an open site and was wind bound for the remainder of the day. This day absolutely broke me, something about the sound of the wind through the trees and loneliness changed my demeanor. I made the decision to leave as soon as the wind abated Tuesday.
I did have some company though

Anyway, Randy your chipmunk is good looking...pretty much like the Alvin we caught yesterday by the bird cage at the back ... the colour even matches the bag of chips...so consider it still a lucky day that you came back instead of having another sort of accident if you continue on with your journey earlier than later...
