    Not quite there.

Now that I'm back into photography there is so much I want to try. Here are a few shots I took today that although I think I was on the right track in what I was trying to capture I fell short. But that's OK because my batteries are charging and I'm in the mood to try and learn.

    1. Moon shot in full daylight during the afternoon. 300mm lens.
    Not quite there.

    2. Dandelion seed caught in a web.
    Not quite there.

    3. My first bug capture ever. Missed the focus, DOF got me.
    Not quite there.

    4. Deep inside a flower. Poor lighting and missed focus.
    Not quite there.

Every mistake I make is a step forward as long as I learn from it. Sure is fun though.

Music to my ears. If only everyone approached their photography with this attitude. I guarantee that Dave will be consistently producing high quality images a lot faster than those who grab a camera and go out and shoot thousands of frames in the hope that one might be okay.

Nice efforts, the first can be improved with a bit of contrast and working the sky towards black.

I played with this moon shot using NIK software. First I globally reduced noise with NIK Dfine and then used NIK Viveza and globally increased contrast 20% and increased structure 40%.

    Not quite there.

That's nice Richard.....more detail and less noise. It was a daytime moon so the blue sky is nice.

You must be looking at the same moon we are looking at here in Missou. I have been looking at it every morning when I put the bird feeder up and I thought it will be good to photograph and here you are! Very nice shot though noisy. I still have to learn how to use Dfine though. Richard's edit is very good.

The rest of your practice shots will get good as you go along practice shooting and you get to learn your camera too in the process. You'll get there jumping beans! quicker than I did.
