They are all nice Trevor . The ones with noise have a painterly look, so I wouldn't worry about the noise issue very much
That's what you get for going out shooting at night. Noise indeed...
Noise not my only problem. I did not dress heavily thinking it was only minus 2C. I forgot the insidious nature of even a light breeze, 5 km per hour (3 mph)or so. After an hour I was too chilled to continue. The final straw was when I walked away from the tripod to checkout a different angle and then spent five minutes trying to get the tripod silhouetted against the horizon so I could find it. Decidedly hypothermic to get that confused.
By the way, your polar bear shots are brilliant.
I like the second and of course the third one is a fabulous shot! Sorry I am late to this party...just keeping up with the post for now.
I can relate. On my recent polar bear shoot temperatures were just below freezing but the wind was anywhere between 5 and 30 mph. I was using the combination glove/mittens that pull back to reveal your fingers for shooting. There was a handwarmer packet in the end of each mitten. When shooting my fingers could only stand a couple of minutes of exposure before they lost sensation. I missed MANY shots due to fingers too cold to press the shutter or them being in my pockets warming up. By the third day I switched to Nordic style ski gloves and the warmer packs in my pockets. That worked much better.
