    Christiansborg Palace

Just some travelogue pics from Denmark. The Christiansborg Palace used to be the principal residence of the Danish Royal Family. In 1794 they decamped due to a fire, never to return. Although the royal reception rooms and stables are still used by the Royal Family, the palace now houses the Supreme Court and most importantly, the Danish Parliament. Open to public, the only limitation being that to view the royal reception rooms, you have to wear overshoes. Never come across this before but I could understand why as we walked around.

    1. The Palace. This is the rear view which I thought the more impressive.

    2. View from the top of the central tower. Four portrait image Panorama. The area in the mid distance is the exercise ground in front of the Royal Stables.

I first wanted to ask if there're so many dogs in Copenhagen but when I see the floors I can understand.

    Wonderful shots.

All beautiful shots, John...I like your shot of #3...the lighting is very subtle and the exposure is excellent. So now I want to ask about the floor in shot #7...is it really going down towards the centre or is this a good candidate for the Adaptive Wide Angle filter in Photoshop? Just asking...

    Thanks all for the feedback.

Vaez, flash was not allowed but by using ISO800, and because the lens is stabilised, I managed to shoot hand held without flash.

Izzie, no the effect is down to WA distortion at 18mm and my laziness. It is easily put right using the Perspective tool:

Not this shot, John...I was referring to #7 -- the middle of the floor seems to go in centre-wise...I saw something similar indoor shot in one of research to correct my perspective/lens correction in my shots at Warm Spring Farms and the floor example was the same as this one. This was corrected via the Adaptive Wide Angle filter in Photoshop. Well, it did not work in my shots because my mistakes were different, but I did find it interesting...and remembered, something for later if I encounter it in mine.

Interiors aren't really my thing, John, but these are expertly captured. Well done.

Thank you Izzie, thank you Richard, thank you Greg - all the more Greg if you are taking these just on technical merit.

Izzie, apologies. The curve at the bottom of no. 7 is down to the WA effect of stitching the five images together. I left it deliberately 'cause I like it. Because it cups the comp, it sort of holds it together more. However, correcting it is something you would use the Warp tool for - see below:

Just a matter of pulling the right handles to straighten everything up.

A good set of photos and a set of good photos, John. I prefer the corrected number 7.

    Cheers.

Thanks John for the technique...I will remember that when I get another problem on mine. Your instruction on my post will be well remembered.

You can put it back now if you like. Thanks for indulging my whim...
