Driving home through County Wicklow on Thursday last after an afternoon photographing in one of my favourite spots, the road runs alongside the River Liffey to high ground close to its source. I always liked this spot but today it looked especially good with nice clouds and the colours of Autumn in the landscape.
Not the more familiar views of the well known river straddled by the city of Dublin (founded over 1000 years ago by Viking invaders) but a more tranquil setting in spectacular scenery aided somewhat by the scattered remains of a great pine forest, the Coronation Plantation (planted in 1831 to celebrate the coronation of the English monarch, King William IV).
