    Printing on Canon Pixma IP4600

I use Canon Pixma IP4600 and different types of Canon paper and I’m pretty satisfied with the final product, but the whole process can be best described like shooting in the dark.
The main problem I encounter is that I cannot find any Canon ICC profile for soft proofing in Photoshop.
When I enter the printer settings I’m given the option to choose between different types of Canon paper, but none of these are listed into the soft proofing menu of CS6.
Another issue I have to deal with is that when I choose Photoshop to manage the colors (as recommended by the experts) my prints are way too dark.
I know I can blend copies in Screen mode and print test images. It is okay when I use GP-501 everyday use paper, but not so OK with Pro Platinum for example.
Until now the best solution I came up with was to print from within the Lightroom print module, setting the print resolution to 1440 ppi and letting the printer to manage the colors.
If any of you knows where to find ICC profiles for Canon papers or has similar problem with color management or better ideas for consistent and credible results, please share them with me.
