    River Liffey 'again'

Two more from my wanderings along the Liffey close to Sally Gap in County Wicklow.

Vertical format this time, and a little more water.

That really is a lovely looking location. You must enjoy shooting there. IMO the second shot is the better of the two. Some nice detail in the FG and the sense of the river running off into the distance. The first shot had the potential to be the better of the two but is a bit tight on the left side, clipping the river bank.

Vertical landscapes can be tricky but these have worked well. My only slight complaint is that tiny piece of rock in the bottom left corner. I would clone it over with water.

    Hi Neville,

Geoff beat me to it suggesting losing the lower left corner rock in #2.

With #1, it looks like it would benefit from a significant clockwise rotation.
Also, a little more on left edge wouldn't hurt.

I really like the other examples in your first thread.

I reckon #2 is the best between the two and with a more pronounced cloud formation there adding to the element of the whole shot. Beautiful place indeed...

Thanks all for comments and most helpful feedback. I shall return to this place and Cloughlea which is close by for late Autumn colours in about 4 to 6 weeks. Even without my camera the area is really tranquil and dramatic in a quiet way (if that's not a complete contradiction) for wandering about but that would be unthinkable for me.

I'm with Dan on this one, Neville, you have made great use of the lines in this composition.

Thank you Greg and Pritam for your feedback. This area is attractive in a quiet subtle way but it's worth while to 'dig deep' to find the compositions.
