They are; a nice pair Pat,
If mine, I'd lose the very nearest (very o.o.f.) foreground in #2 though.

That risks having its feet too close to the bottom edge; but yes I agree with a slight crop.

Technically well executed images. I find that in most cases preening shots are a lot more interesting through a viewfinder than they are on a monitor. But I'm beginning to suspect that I'm getting a bit stodgy

The trouble is that this bird moves around so much that it is not easy to capture successfully. I have tried and failed several times so it's perhaps only when they stop for a make over that you get a decent opportunity.

Both very nice shots, but if mine, I will tone down the blue rock in #2 because it competes with the blue of the bird in general.
