    More Autumn Colours

Hey, why not 'join the club'. I've been trying out my new Panasonic travel camera, exposing in RAW, converting to jpg using Silkypix and then sharpening using GIMP with the Wavelet Sharpening plug-in. I am used to Nikon DSLR & Photoshop Elements so all is 'new ground' to me but I think that the pic quality is OK for general use? There seems to be a 'reflection' in centre of 3rd pic - not sure how I got that, perhaps the sun clipped the lens. I used 1000px on the long side for upload ... perhaps 800 would be better for viewing?

    Only practicing in public

I think that #2 is the best, with #3 as a close second. #2 just epitomises autumn.

Thanks John. I also like 2 except that when all our tree leaves have fallen we have tons of them to blow and rake up! I think that I messed up the sharpening on 1 so I will revisit the RAW file to check if the original pic was badly focused. All new 'systems' being used and I obviously need a bit of practice ... probably shouldn't post until I am up to speed

Thanks all for your kind comments. Autumn colours here in Norway are truly magnificent, I guess Canada must also experience such glory.

Lovely, Ron. No 2 shouldn't work because there is no clear focal point in the image. However, it does ... for me at least. Or looking at it again, maybe that lighter bit of leaf just in the middle just above the centre line, provides enough of a focal point to anchor the image.

Thanks Donald. I shot this in our garden and had to crop out the caravan! If I had got lower (though 'creaking) then I could have had a better view. What made me think about 'Autumn' was your thread in colour

I like all of them but #2 tops them all followed by #3. I like the backlighting of the leaves there and #2 is a real sign of autumn with leaves on the ground. Yep! tons to gather up and tidy but piling them and having your pet or your kids spoiling your pile will surely make a good shot too.

Thanks IzzieK. Much appreciated from another Aussie!
Pet or kids is a great idea but, as a senior citizen and retired like you, I will have to see if I can 'borrow' a couple of kids for a photo shoot! Mine (adults) still live in Oz.

Mine are all in Oz too...to far to swim for a casual visit. All is good.
