Nice picture Brian. It is good to see a fungus picture that shows the gills as well as the top of the cap. If this was in the UK I would say it was an Amethyst Deceiver, Laccaria amethystina, but I doubt that it occurs in the Phillipines!

i looked up Amethyist Deceiver and the pictures all show a smallish beasty on a stem. This one can grow larger than an average hand and i have yet to see a stalk.

That's why it is called a Deceiver! It can take on many different forms. However, I think that it must be something else.

I like the color contrast between the flowers and the other stuff The green leaf distracts though. So, may be desaturating or changing the color of it works fine.

i tried it without the green leaf and I felt that the shot lost its pop.
