    Three Bridges at Conwy

    This image is a composite panorama of the three bridges crossing the River Conwy in North Wales. I took nine images from a turret in Conwy Castle, in a three-by-three grid. I stitched them together using Autopano with the Pannini projection. (I don't know what an Pannini projection is, but it seemed to give the best result!)

    The three bridges are (from left to right):
    1. The old A55 road bridge, completed in 1958 (now replaced by a tunnel under the river);
    2. The even older Telford suspension bridge, completed in 1826, and once the only road bridge across the river, and now a pedestrian bridge;
    3. The Stephenson railway bridge, completed in 1848, the only extant example of such a bridge by Stephenson.

    The town across the river is Llandudno Junction.

    I have been very pleased with this software. You have to pay for it, but it is easy to use and gives good results. In particular, it maintains the straight lines of the box girders on the rail bridge. The clipping at the top margin is a consequence of the best crop of the stitched-together image.

    Comment welcome.

    Nice composition and processing, could do with a wee bit of contrast.

    Thanks for your comment. Is this any better? I gave it an enhancement in Viveza.
