Nice look, if you have venetian blinds consider using shadow pattern on face.

It's an interesting image, Melanie. I think the concept is interesting, but somehow it misses by a little bit.
1. The idea of using the shadows is intriguing (as per John's comment), but I wonder if the effect would have been better to not have the shadow cutting across your face. A few cm lower and across your sweater might give you a stronger image.
2. I like the monochromatic background but find that the right side of the image (the bed) doesn't really contribute anything to the image. I wonder if the image might not be stronger if you had cropped at the door?
