If you go down to the woods today...

Went for a quick walk through the woods earlier, took a few shots... here is one I've just processed.

If you go down to the woods today...

I really like this, and I don't think it's gloomy at all. Did you light it with anything or is that sun beams coming through branches? It's like a secret garden. Very nice.

Thanks Natalie, they are sun beams coming through the branches.

I did apply some local brightness to the steps and obviously there is a vignette on the image.

Beautiful image Matt . You have very good subjects to shoot where you live and you have the talent to present them in the nicest way

Love the title, Matt! (and the image, of course).

It's the first line of a song "The Teddy Bears' Picnic" which was popular when I was a kid. I first heard it at Cheeseman's (Lewisham, London, SE 13) annual children's party in 1947 or 1948 as I recall.

    Thanks for posting.

Really nice image Matt. If that light on the lower steps is natural, it's well seen. If it isn't it's well processed.

The lower steps is where I increased the brightness, so not completely natural

Well seen , Matt. I like the moodiness but I feel the vignette might be a little too heavy because it has created a bit of a 'spotlight' effect in the foreground. I think you just need to soften the transition from dark to light - make it a bit more gradual.
