Going great everyone ... keep it up!
Going great everyone ... keep it up!
I must say, Colin, I'm finding it disturbing that due to world time, before I have one day out of the way, the thread for the next day comes around. To make matters worse I'm currently reading Dava Sobel's book 'Longitude' which is essentially about world time!
EXIF here, PAD album here.
More nature: an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on my mom's Butterfly Bush. I took some shots of our family and cook-out today, but the bug was the best of the day.
I'd appreciate any C&C.
Cheers,
Rick

Well, damn it Rick - what can I say other than perfectly composed, perfectly framed, perfectly coloured, perfectly sharp, perfectly beautiful.
I think Rick's macro's should be banned!
Seriously, you seem to have a talent there...
Edit: Actually, when I look again...those wee square dark shapes in the bottom left-hand corner and just behind the flower on the bottom right are a little distracting. For even more perfection, I'd clone them out.

There wasn't a lot of spare time today and I spent most of that moseying around in CiC, before thinking "Help - no photo!" So I grabbed the Corgi and committed a sin on her which caused her to stick her tongue out.

Damn you perspective Somehow every time when it set the camera absolutely straight and lined up the bridge moved a bit so everything was totally crooked again. I spent hours to get it (about) right.

Thanks for that, Kit.
Good catch on the distracting background: I did some cloning and blurring, and it does help keep the focus, I think.
I updated the original, but I now think I shouldn't have done that: I should have left it so people could compare. I'll remember next time.
Thanks!
Rick
A field of barley in Pembrokeshire today. I was on my mountain-bike so I only had the Canon 350D and 18-55 kit lens - but I thought it came out OK.

Rob I love the crop factor, beautiful... and Dave, your moth on the wall looks so much healthier than mine.....

Well done James. I know what you mean about "not having a shot" ... I had to head about 5km in the wrong direction to get mine last night!
James, got a little test for you ... lets see if you can ...
- click on your image here & display it
- then right-click on it and choose properties to display the image's property sheet
- then highlight the image URL in the property sheet
- then control + C to copy it to the clipboard
Reckon you can do that?

Colin,
just tried your sequence and nothing happened.
I'm guessing that this loads my inmage directly to the thread, but I note that it was edited by Dave.
Will try tomorrow with my new image(s) ,always assuming I get the inspiration in time
cheers,
James
