    these spiders grow up to 9 inches leg tip to leg tip. A full sized one spins a gold coloured web up to three meters across anchor point to anchor point. I have seen one that caught a swallow/swift and ate it.

    So are we. In the past I have measured 8" of rain in 1 hour and that was just from a thunderstorm. We are sheltered from most of the typhoons by a rather nice mountain.

    Don't bet the family jewels on it but I believe it is food the spider has wrapped up for a snack later.
