Right or wrong - I like the result. Kinda painterly....
I actually like the motion blur effect

Like the ol' saying - If you can't fix it, Feature it
Nice.
I like it. Not the same old fall colors reflecting on calm waters.
Dave
Yet, I like the results.
Jim. let me be the dissenter here. I don't like posting comments until I can figure out why I either like or dislike an image
I've been looking at this image off and on since you posted it and have been trying to gauge my feelings and while it has a certain appeal, it just doesn't do much for me. I find that there is nothing that really holds my eyes and they wander all over the image trying to find an anchor, and they keep spilling over the edge. I also find the brighter gray splashes on the right side of the image distracting. My eyes keep flipping over there and right off the page.
I think we learn something from every image we analyze and my take away on this one is that funky effects alone don't make an image. It needs something more to hold more than a passing look at it.
Thanks all for the comments, appreciated.
Manfred I can't say I disagree with what you say but to me it's just a fun image and to me that's what it's all about.
Besides, I have to give credit to my dog Laci. She is the one that jumped on me when I was pressing the shutter.
ah, so the dog owns the picture then
I sort of like it as an 'abstract' of trees' but agree with Manfred, needs a focal point to ground it and finish it - photoshop a duck in at a bottom right third point in the water - that will fix it
To me, there is a focal point - There is a small cluster of trees / tree trunks, right at the edge of the water that appear devoid of leaves, located just off center. This spot attracted my attention as it was one of the few places in the image where there was no foliage color.
Red leaves and red wine?
Thanks all for the comments on this different image.
The bad part is my dog Laci wants her own camera now.
So funny...but how creative can your dog be? I love the painterly effect though...
Laci should have a camera of her own if she is so inclined to be a photographer along with you.
I was thinking of getting a Ricoh WG-5 for my Horses. When set to periodically snap a photo every few minutes and attached to a halter, I could have a Horse photographer off shooting scenes from their daily routine.
Just imagine what a series of photos Laci could achieve this way.
