    Credit card camera.Or equivalent.

I have an older Sony C/C camera. It has treated me well over the years made a lot of $$ with it. My question is do they still make them with out a storage card. This is so easy to use just plug it in and down load to your pictures section. With out the hassle of taking out the card put it into a reader. Just wondering Thanks for any info. Gary B......

Credit card cameras were a move to produce a tiny camera. Internal batteries and built in memory enabled the camera manufacturer to reduce the overall size of the camera. This type of camera was fairly short-lived as people were not willing to pay a premium price for them.

The camera built into cell phones has pretty well replaced much of the discrete small camera market and the performance of these phone cameras is often superb. If you want a replacement for your Sony, this would be the path you should look at.

Most cameras (including pro level ones) let you download images without removing the memory card through their built-in USB ports. The downside is that the process is relatively slow when compared to using a card reader.

I could not understand why people used card readers ... the cable from camera to computer is so easy
Then eventually I got myself a card reader ....
And have yet to return to the cable system
Back then with low Mp cameras the cable system was quite quick but as cameras got more Mp one needs the faster system if you take any number of shots between downloads.

I sometimes take a picture of my bookshelf and download via cable to sync the camera and computer clock.
