    Old cars in Havana

    Hi all,

I went on my first visit to Cuba in August and spent 4 days in Havana. It was an incredible experience, and I'll be posting some photos of the people in future posts. In this post I'm showing some of the old cars that are beautifully preserved and used as tourist taxis.

I really like this series Tony. #4 would be my favorite of the group.

    Hi Tony,

I like #1 best, although there are several other contenders also.
#4 does stand out, as Kim says.

#6 is not one of them though, if it cannot be improved (by removing the foreground person intruding in to shot with cloning and cropping), it shouldn't be here - that's my 'tough love' lesson for today - just ask Izzie how beastly I can be

No problem Dave. In fact, #6 isn't in my "collection" that I have on my web site. I threw it in precisely to get this kind of reaction. I daren't eliminate the person because she's my daughter; I took that photo while bouncing around in a horse-pulled carriage, and it's in my family album to remind me of that experience.

#1 is my favourite, and it's a toss-up between #3 and #4 for my second-favourite. In #3 it looks like the driver is looking at me, although I doubt it, and I really don't know if the two in #4 are looking at me or something else, but it was a timely capture.

It will still be a good idea to remove that person, whether she is related to you or not. Your subject is the car not your daughter...you should have included her full person with the car. Sorry.

Great shots. Tony. I keep looking at heading down to Havana to do some photography and somehow something always seems to get in the way. I'd like to say that these shots are what finally convinced me to go, but I'm afraid I can't...

I like the perspective in #1, Tony - though at first I wondered how that woman could wield a camera and drive at the same time...

And the fourth stands out for the colour. I initially thought it was selective colouring til I realised the back ground was in colour too.

But the 2nd is my favourite of this batch because of the motion you have captured in the car, and because of the 'family setting'.
