Re: Fall Reflections at the Beaver Pond
Kinda the quintessential fall shot. I almost think that this image would have worked had the center shoreline been mid-image, but then I think you'd have needed a wider angle lens. Nonetheless I can smell the fallen leave. This looks like a flowage that's been abandoned for some years?

Re: Fall Reflections at the Beaver Pond
Wish I was there also, great composition. I usually use Auto WB, lately in the woods I have found that the camera runs in the 3800K range so images are a little cool, found if I go to around 4500K it really pops those colours. It appears to my thinking that the right side of the image it too bright it wants to draw my eyes to that area, whereas the left side is so much more interesting. I played with it in ACR and found that if I slide the whites way, way down, the shadow and Highlights also about half way it was now the highlight slider that controlled the brightness. This allowed me to get a good more even look in the reflection on the water. I look the reflection in the water to me that is where all the magic is happening. No matter what as the British would say "That is a real cracker of a shot" and I agree.
Cheers: Allan

Re: Fall Reflections at the Beaver Pond
Very nice image. I think the framing is excellent--a nice amount of decentering in both dimensions.

Oooohhhhh....love to watch beavers working...the engineers of nature...I have only seen these creatures once -- in Wyoming. Anyway, I love this shot, Ziggy...lovely colours.

Thanks all for the comments and the suggestions on how to improve the image, it is always appreciated.
I have only seen the beavers a few times at the nature preserve.
