Fan-tastic feathers
We have a collection of spoiled peacocks and peahens at Beacon Hill Park, in Victora BC Canada. I had been trying for ages to get a shot of a male in its full regalia, and was constantly frustrated until a chance walk through the park gave me my opportunity at last.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
I've never seen a peacock do this, much less in ideal light when I had a camera with me. Well done!

Looks more like art than a photograph Trev,
Very fortunate with the perfectly aligned head, neck and fan.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
Ha! I took about 4 photos, and I have to thank the peacock for looking directly at me!

That is superb. Getting it up to full size in the Lightbox shows that you've nailed it so far as focus is concerned.
My compliments. That is a beauty.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
Hi Chris! Thanks for the comment.
Counting down to the big game tomorrow... I am glad that it comes down to Aussie and NZ at the RWC. If NZ can't have it I would prefer Australia does... as long as they don't rub our noses in it too much! LOL!!!

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
You really nailed this shot, Trev. This is a fantastic image!
I love these "super-symmetrical", straight on shots as they look fantastic and break a couple of the rules of photography (placing your subject in the middle of the frame and shooting your subject straight on). I find they (almost?) always work.
I also like your PP work on this shot. It complements the way you've framed the image and you get more of a graphic arts than photographic look to the shot.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
Really an excellent image. I'd have never thought to compose the shot that way. Nicely done.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
Good decision to go with the symmetry, Trev. The 'eyes' follow you everywhere.

Re: Fan-tastic feathers
Very beautiful...now that makes my peacock shots recently very ordinary indeed. 'Must be a hen...male birds are usually more beautiful...
