    Moon Shot

I was out riding my bike yesterday and was hailed over by a neighbor I hadn't seen in some time since I haven't been out riding very much lately due to the heat we've been having. Anyways, he asked if I was still doing photography which I've kind of been taking a break from lately. I said yes, I'm still doing it but not as much lately due to a lack of motivation. He then told me he'd been cleaning out a closet and found an old Minolta film camera and some lenses, would I be interested in them. We all know the answer to that one, of course!
So, here's a shot with the only lens that is worth a plug nickel. It is a Vivitar Close Focusing zoom 75-150mm f3.8. Nothing fancy, but, it is a Nikon mount lens, NOT a Minolta like I'd have expected since the camera he gave me is a Maxxum 5000i.

Taken this morning right after I got up.

Scroll down for more pictures with this lens in day light conditions.

This lens does a lot better with some sun light and a closer subject matter.
I think I got pretty lucky as it does a very nice job IMO.

All the shots looks nice and sharp. If it was a film camera and the incident was yesterday how were you able to process and upload so quickly...? It usually takes a week to have coloured process...

That's easy Izzie, I wasn't using the lens on the film camera I was given. I used it on my Nex-7.

Our local camera shop can develop color in three days if your timing is right, but I can't afford film costs now.

Very nice images Alan The hot weather makes people sluggish. I'm sure you will start shooting more when the heat is over.

It hasn't been the heat as much as it's been the humidity lately.
We're used to it being hot, but only 20% RH or so. Last month we were seeing RH of 60%+ most days and it felt like we were in Missouri or some place like that.
