Carreg Cennen - Black & White Landscape (Accidental Shot?)

First of all let me explain that this shot was a complete accident, I was trying to capture a buzzard that was flying by and that went completely wrong so I have cloned it out, but then I was left with this scene.

I paid no attention to the background when I was trying to shoot the buzzard and only noticed it when I got it back on my computer.

I have chosen black and white because it was quite hazy and not much colour at all in the image.

That's really nice Matt. Beautiful tonal recession throughout. I take it the birds were in the original shot.

    Thanks John.

Actually no, the birds where a separate shot its a kind of composite.

I was unsure and still am about them to be honest.

Because of the haze I wonder if this is one of those scenes which would work well as a painting effect, in colour but possibly with a pastel or water colour sort of look to it?

I find most images fail with this treatment but I suspect this could be one of the exceptions.

Cheers Jeff, there is literally no colour in the SOOC image, its almost opaque!

Fortunate 'accident', Matt. Was the de-haze slider any use?

I did use it TWICE on this image

Looking at it a few hours later now, I'm not really happy with it... its very soft.

I'll try sharpening but I think I'll head up to this location again and shoot the scene on purpose, it was shot at 300mm so not ideal.

But I didn't even see this POV to be honest.

I am with Geoff in his suggestion but I agree more on a re-shoot because it does not seem to bother you to go back and take another shot at it...knowing your preference for colour, to me this shot does not represent you much.

I like the hazy look in the image, I don't like the birds though. I would clone the birds and crop the FG above your watermark. For me it is a nice BnW landscape image
