    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

1 This peacock is not as beautiful as Trev (Tronhead) one but it is my shot...well, at least I know it is a peacock... does that count?

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

2 And here are two from the entertainment area...of the owl...don't you just like the intensity of those eyes???

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

3 I like the funny pose of this one...

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

4 Last one...this is the closest I have ever been to an animal...

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

Thank you all for looking and commenting if you may...please...I want to know what you think too of my images...

Nice series, the first and last are the only one's totally under your control, the others you had to make due with what was offered. There's always some little bit that creates hindsight within a capture, I'm sure you have your own concerns about each.

I like the dark, contrasting tones of the first shot, would have preferred either more or less of the rock. I like the speckled grass at the top, but the blown highlights to the right are a bit distracting.

Second and third shot are fine, looks like a bit of cloning occurred in the third.

Fourth shot is interesting, nice composition.

    Hi Izzie

The first shot is still nice even though it doesn't have it's feathers spread out. The light shows off the bird's beautiful colour. I like the poses in 2 & 3 and you've nailed the focus on the bird in these. The fourth for me is a bit too close a shot.

I thought it would be wise to remove the rock but it did not suit my taste so I left it alone...and I see the cloned part I didn't blend that one well now that you mentioned it. I removed a little sort of doggie house there (actually a pig entered that little house during one of the presentation...Sorry about that...

Thanks for the extended comment...very rare of you to do that but I enjoyed it just the same...especially on my post...'appreciate it very much...thanks again.

Thanks Dave...I was afraid the dark guy was almost near my camera but I was able to back off a bit. I only like his eyes...I cannot wait too long for that peacock to show its real colour and I don't think it did because it was more buzy roaming the whole place...if I did not have any companions, it would have been nice to stalk it...

You are up early, mate...need some entertainment or something? I will upload my last shots after this one below my response to you...'might help to wake you up some more...

Thanks for the comments...appreciate it very much...

and some more of the camel that pushed my camera....

1 there are some posts in the area that has those containers to buy a bag of feed for the camels so here is one kids tossing some pellets into his mouth...there were about 4 camels in the enclosure but this one is the most greedy...I converted this to black and white because I cannot blur the pesky background...

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

2 but I left this one in colour to show even just a bit of how hard the background is to manipulate...and it will be a lot of job doing this in Photoshop so I used Nik's Viveza to pp this...still not good enough...even to my taste...

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

3 OK...now eagle time...We have been admiring this eagle from afar when suddenly one of the boys threw a fish ....

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

4 I did not notice the fly until after pp...so the bug police, David (the Turk) will be pleased with this live fly hovering about...too far for me to swat, David! LUNCH!!!

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

5 The fly has landed!!! and so the eagle continue eating...

    Three more for tonight...C&C please...

Thank you all for viewing and commenting. This is the last batch from my Grant's Farm adventure...the rest are just plain yucky with all the many people wanting to share some space to look at what I was looking at and taking some shots too...and of course, being a Budweiser place of entertainment and adventure, there are free glasses of wine to partake...I got my share and gave it to Bill and so did Jesse who was with us...We don't drink so I drove us home...tired and happy...

Thank you all.....time for another trip somewhere...

Good timing on the pellet toss, the eagle shots are very crisp; that white plumage is always difficult to exposure for.

The Owl & the Eagle are very nice, the super close up may be a bit too close up, it perhaps needs just a bit more of the fur/coat of the animal, so we can be sure what it is.
Also maybe a bit more exposure on that one.
It certainly looks a fun visit!

Eagle #3 beautifully exposed, great detail and tack sharp.

Re: Three more for tonight...C&C please...

Izzie, in the latest update here #3, 4 & 5 I really like. Of these I mostly prefer #3, good feathers, clean eye etc. Just two little niggly thoughts, can you lighten the fish a bit in this one so it is not quit so hidden from view and if you crop just a bit off the top to get rid of the remnants of the wire mesh? Even as is it is a lovely image!
In #2 you had great timing on the shot to catch the bit of food in mid air but I wonder about the edge of theear being almost clipped off on the left side.
You really are improving, keep it up!

Nice set, Izzie. In the 2nd shot the owl seems to have you dead in its sights. If you were a mouse you might be lunch. But then in the 3rd it seems to have been offended by something.

Thanks John...I was almost leaning to my left taking that bald eagle and very inspired by the other comments here that I think I will go on some more photographic experience during the January/February period when they come over the other side of the Missouri River (Alton, Illinois way) where there are plentiful at that time...It is such a beautiful bird, unfortunately at the farm, they are captured variety.

Thanks for the extra comments. 'Appreciate it.

I aimed for the eye of that camel purposely, Kay...too close for comfort though. I purposely darkened it with vignette border. I guess I wasn't successful in that either...Oh well...

Thanks for commenting and the suggestion...'appreciate it very much.

Thank you very much Christina...I've missed your birdie shots, but it's OK...spreading your genre is more important and you are turning some good shots with those landscapes -- must be the move inspiring you to look more about your topics too..'appreciate your comment...
