    Light Tunnel at the Museum

I took this photo yesterday in the light tunnel at the museum. It is straight out of the camera, just converted from dng to jpg. ISO 3200, f1.7, 1/125 sec. C&C welcome, I am brand new to this. Thanks!

First of all, welcome to the forum.

Very nice. I like the light, color and depth of the image. Would like even better without the person on the front left. But that's just me.

Just for fun you might try B&W.

Nice subject, Kevin. Are those walls tilted like that?

    Welcome to CiC Kevin.

A very nice image. Jim and Greg have already brought up the points that jump into my tiny little mind.

I like this image very much!

Welcome to CiC, Kelvin...I agree with Ziggy about your image here -- the person on the left distracts from the real shot...Black and White would have been a better alternative here.

    Welcome Kevin,
I am going to be the dissenting voice here and say I like the colour. For me this looks like an installation based around video and the raster box so the blue makes sense.

I agree the person CL could go but well done getting the image with the other folks in the frame. Which museum is this?

Re: Light Tunnel at the Museum

Thank you all for your comments. The walls are about eight feet left and right of the path, with the end outlined by the light colored box at the back. I thought about whether to include the "sentry" in the foreground, it seemed to add perspective to the people in the background. The museum is the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston Tx, the artist that did the installation is James Turrell, one of the more important "light" artists, with installations around the world. If there is a Turrell "skyspace" anywhere near you, it is well worth the visit for an incredible light experience (and great photo opportunities).

Here is the same photo in black and white:

And a similar photo without the person in the foreground; I wish could have captured the same two women in motion, but the person standing is there to guard the tunnel and keep people in the center of the path:

Stunning image... Especially the 3rd image with the guard standing in the distance with the hint of the the other person(s) seen just behind. The diagonal lines are mesmerizing as are the beautiful blue colours/tones. Beautifully vibrant.

Welcome Kevin! Beautiful shot! Too bad the guard was there; would have been better without her. But never mind me, I have been known to get upset when people enter any frame that I am shooting!
