Early morning view from Ronda - C&C welcome

    Hi everyone,

This is an early morning scene from the town of Ronda in Andalucia. I do find it appealing, but then I was there. It also took a lot of pp (by my standards) to deal with a very mixed light scene.

    Any thoughts?

    Dave

I lived for a long time in Andalucia, in Córdoba and Málaga. There are some beautiful places around there and Ronda is spectacular. I like the mist in this one.

Very nice, Dave! You managed a difficult mixture of contrasty light very well. I sure do wish my wife and I had gotten to Ronda when we were in Andalusia but it was that one day away that was one day too much.

I love viewing scenes with rolling clouds on a sunny day, just as difficult to capture what attracts your eye as the golden moment can be so fleeting. Nicely captured.

Looks fine to me. The highlights are bright but not over exposed while the dark clouds are nicely dark.

That is how I like to see a foggy scene; with some clear reference points to show that it really is fog and not just an out of focus shot, which can often occur.

I keep going back to look at this image -- it is simply a beautiful place. To be able to show this enormous beautiful scene needs a UWA and I wasn't disappointed. I am now wondering how far were you from that structure, I do not know what it is called...to be able to get this whole scenery? Too good!

Thanks for your kind words, Izzy. It was actually the view from our hotel room , and we weren't very far away. The structure I think is fairly modern, and it's mostly for tourists to admire the view - but they were all still in bed!

To give an idea, this was the whole 180 degree view at the "wrong" time of day, stitched in camera

It's good you resisted the temptation to manipulate the levels in favour of a more even lighting and instead you appear to have focused on what you saw at the time. Very nicely recorded and processed.
