Low light - C&C are welcome

I hardly do photography in low light, though last year during my visit to China, I have tried something. Herewith I would like to share two of those shots with you. Please share your C&C for the same.

    Regards,

    Tejal

I like #1 here because it is an unusual duck. Being HK, is that Peking-ed??? Nope..! blue so probably not. Peking-ed has dark skin... What lens did you use for image #2? That is very interesting...

Thanks Izzie for your comment. The #2 image was shot with 18-55 lens.

Well captured Tejal, they are both good images with plenty of interest within them to allow the viewers eye to wander around all of the subject matter. Number one looks to have been a very good show, I do like the second image again for its content and your composition. However I find the light spots within the sky a little distracting but I wouldn't know how to overcome this. Well done for attempting something which isn't your normal technique.

For a kit lens, that is a very nice outcome. I had not touched my kit lens for a good while ... maybe it is time to dust it off and give it some practice...

thanks Peter for your feed back. Yes, even I noticed them while processing. But as I said earlier, night photography, I have never done before, some not sure, how to get rid of it. .

ohh.... .. I have only kit lenses, 18-55 and 55-250. Out of these, most of the time, I click with 15-55 only. I dont even have filters. Wanna buy filters too, but let's see, when I will .

Nice effort, it's very difficult to capture motion in low light and also get a good exposure.

and if anyone here demonstrates that great photos can be taken with (just) kit lenses (taking all we have seen from you); it is you Tejal (well done)

I guess #1 was some kind of illuminated fountain/water show?

Might be worth cropping a bit off right hand side of #1, just a thought.

Thanks John. Yes, it is very difficult to capture something clear/sharp, which is motion, in low light.

Thanks Dave for your kind words, really means a lot for me .

Yes, this pic was taken during a laser show in Shenzhen. This water show technically based on two 50-metre large water screens, hundreds of water jets, five geysers, fourteen large flames, six hundred underwater projectors, seven video projectors and five laser projectors.

Little cropping from right, yes, I will try that.
