    Another Rainy Day

It seems like it is raining all over the world at the moment. C&C welcome.

Nice use of a slow shutter speed. I really like the effect, might borrow this idea some day.

I've seen this filter effect before here at CiC, so it must be raining over where you are and this is your neighbour's hour you shot and played with this filter... Very nice...

Thanks Rita. At 1/125 it is not such a slow shutter speed. Shooting through the rain with a slow shutter can make the image look hazier. The 'slow' effect is the result of processing.

Izzie, in this instance it is Topaz' Glow. I have never had much use for that filter as I find its results are generally kind of odd. In this case though, I found the rain disappearing as I tried to give the image a bit of pop. Then I remembered Glow and at about 20% I thought it did a reasonable job of bringing the rain back.

Never tried Topaz glow. Is it a plug-in in its own right or an option in one of the many other plug-ins? One way or the other, I like the effect. Nice image Greg.

    Thanks John.

It is both a stand-alone and a plug-in. I picked it up a year or two ago when Topaz had one of those mid-year sales and offered their whole collection for about a 60% discount.

I knew it has a name but I can't think of it at the time. I have two paid for Topaz filters and I don't use it so it was culled out of my pooter recently on downsizing my files...
