I am pleased with this macro. Whiter white, brighter bright & reasonable dark.

A nicely done image, but I think you might be clipping a bit in the whites:

Nice effort, I always zoom in on the whites/brights to check detail, sometimes you just can't recover.

I don't think that Brian uses PS but...one of the tricks that I use is adding a "Threshold Adjustment Layer"
to show me exactly where things are blown.

Looking good to me, Brian; even at full screen size.
You may have fractionally blown the whites in places but it doesn't really notice. Probably impossible to capture that full range in just one shot.

Hi Brian,
Expanding on Williams comment re the clipping and threshold layer to see blown areas, here's your image.

This is just one of a number of ways to see clipped areas.
Opening your image in ACR only a very very minor adjustment of highlights removes this clipping and reveals all detail. Are you aware that it is possible for you to get everything right and then on final downsizing and output sharpening some clipping can/will occur in many circumstances.
For this reason I often give myself a bit of space especially at the right end of the histogram at initial adjustments and make the final adjustment after downsizing and sharpening for the web.

Very nice Brian, It is often a tough balance with something as bright as that beautiful flower and the dark background that makes it stand out so nicely.
