Ok I'll keep it simple, I like the image for its simplicity and find the texture/action of the water perfect.
For those of us that don't have 12 stops of dimmer screwed to the front of the lens we will just have to continue getting up real early in the hope of finding flat water![]()
Hi Donald:
I love the effect the neutral density filters offer through extended exposures. You have made a beautiful image.
You have a kindred spirit, with Michael Levin, a Vancouver-based photographer, who has made his portfolio out of similar images.

enviously...
Those are very good too, Trev...but Donald has his own style and likes to dabble in B/W more than he does with colour...
Hi Izzie:
I was applauding the long exposure art that both are so talented at producing - no disrespect to Donald! In fact since M. Levin makes a lot from his photos I could see images such as Donald's up there as well!
Love it
I agree, I haven't commented on the image (in my posts above), but if it were in a portfolio such as M. Levin's, Donald's image here would fit right in.
Me too - I find my (few) landscapes are often to busy (aka 'spoiled by reality'), but if you take a coastal/estuary scene, then 'simplify' that (by use of super-long exposure time), it goes a long way to solving those problems.Originally Posted by Donald
