    The Waiting Game

Taken in a small Hamlet called Sandsend near Whitby in Yorkshire. Mono because the life preserver case to the right of the figure is bright red.

    Fuji X + standard 35mm lens.

I like the processing, John, and the composition of the crossed diagonals, with the figure leaning in the same direction as the rods.

John, excellent shot and good processing...I will supposed you used Silver Efex here instead of pure Photoshop. And mind you, we all know that fishies and fishers like this man are good at this waiting game...some even go out with a boat to stay away from nagging wives and bratty kids.

No Izzie, just Photoshop Image/Adjustments/Black and White on this occasion but with a slight sepia added in Photokit 2.

I really like this image John. Love the composition and all the angles are so complimentary.

Thank you Kim. I would love to say that it's how I planned it but in truth the opportunity presented itself and I pressed the button.

That's called being aware of your surroundings and being prepared to take advantage of them at a moment's notice. Well done!

Thank you Dean, thank you Mike. It is interesting Mike when you live on an island and you become aware of the effect that direction has on light. I live on the West coast and at the time of day this was taken, looking out to sea, I would (with a bit of luck) have been looking at a sunset. This was on the East coast and the sky had a more reflective luminance to it. Totally different - but nice.
