Absolutely! . The contrast i.e. Xmas Tree - person on a laptop ( or izzit a teenager suffering from anxiety and depression getting his early morning fix?! ) - then, the brand new bags/shoes on display next to his old bag/shoes.
Awesome!

But of course the photo looks better without the wall.......but the photo with the Tree too ?

Griddi - the question I always ask myself is "does that element contribute to the image?". If the answer is "no", then leave it out. In general having as simpler image is better. Having an element that draws the viewer's attention away from the subject is not desirable, and if it were my image, the Christmas tree would be gone for the reasons I listed.
I also find the image a touch soft; a bit of sharpening would be in order too. I've also trimmed a bit off the top and right; again there were small elements around the edges that probably should not be in the image. The shot is slightly underexposed (perhaps 1/3 stop).

My approach when I pack my suitcase for a trip is "if in doubt, leave it out!". I think the same approach is a good one when composing pictures too.
Re: One can always find a corner.....
It is in his face..that serenity ......placid happiness...then the pavement under him and reflected in his laptop...Zen like pose..the bags..echoed through the shop window ( aspiration and reality??)
Griddi?
It's an excellent shot! :)

Hi Sharon,
You did see so much more in the photo as I did, but have opened my eyes now too, for instance I noticed not at all that the pavement is reflected in the laptop....awesome you noticed this .......
Your words are just so nice, and in future I will try to see more, as you did, in a image......
Thank You !!!!!!!
