    Given that this is an excellent example of the technique in practice, John, I wonder if you'd be willing to expand on the above and make this something like a step-by-step tutorial. I'm sure a lot of people would like that and find it useful. For example, you write that the figure is cut from one image and layered into another. I'm sure a lot of people are asking - 'How do you do that?'

    Kim, it's not difficult. The figure is cut from one image and layered onto another and then the opacity is reduced to taste. The only thing you have to watch is the direction of light in both images. e.g. flipping the figure in this image and placing it on the RHS would not have looked right.

    Richard, 'Caesar' was in the gift shop behind the counter. St Davids Cathedral is the first cathedral in which I have so far at least, had to purchase a licence to take photographs. Having said that however, it didn't cost that much and it was worth it.

    A bit odd this Donald. I found my post had duplicated. Having deleted one copy, your response now precedes the post it is responding to. People will think your psychic. I answer to your Q, I'd be delighted to but give me a couple of days to do it properly. We are (my other half is) going shopping tomorrow (and I am Chauffeur ).
