For me, there is more out of focus distracting background than main subject. So I would suggest cropping tighter, possibly with a different size ratio; or reshoot with a cleaner background and greater focus depth, if that is possible.
Would it take a little extra brightness without getting into over exposure issues?

I like this image. Only thing I might suggest is a little more crop off the bottom. Think this would draw the eyes quickly to the focus point.
