No particular method, usually the lighting catches my eye and also depends on the flower's location. If in a vase, I'll move it around until I find a suitable location, if on a bush I'll have to decide if I want a grouping or a closeup.
Nicely captured.
Adjustable colors ability in LEDs.the blue in the edge of the petals in the foreground
Some look really nice backlit some not so. I want to try a few cut with a black background.
Looks like you did a pretty nice job on the one you posted.
It's a beautifully photographed rose...
I much prefer the mood of the first one and the depth of field of the second one.
What an exuberant beauty!!!
Really nice image, well done.
Dave
Definitely, the second has much improved than the first
Thanks guys...mood...is that one of those indefinable words Mike?
The 2nd is my favourite because the rose itself is perfectly beautiful. The colours/tones are rich and gorgeous. (Also for the greater DOF) That said I love the soft mood, light colours and delicate nature of the 1st rose (less the blue bits)...

The two images involved different processing, of the same series, in the stacking, f/13 x 6, and
merging of 6 different series different ways. Additionally, in LR, I painted reduced clarity around the
edges and raised the color temperature 30 points before taking it into PS and applying HDR toning.
In the first image, I stacked and merged in one fell swoop, resulting in a ton of artifacts.
Beautiful shot!
the same as with most flowers... what angle, lighting, exposure and background will bring out the inner beauty of the rose.
Second image is a killer! Gorgeous!
nope we got the grief, you got some solid critique, then we got unbounded pleasure.
I especially like the dreamy look of the first image with soft colors
