    The composition works for me, I think it may be a bit oversharpened as the petals look a bit flat.

    Nice ensemble of colours Brian.

    Normally I'd be straight in with 'get gone with that dodgy, ripped/eaten leaf at the base' but the colour of the torn edges match the flower so perfectly that it doesn't offend my eye.

    I keep covering over the top corner petals ...and in truth were it me would probably allow the single bloom its moment in the spotlight..but again..it does not look out of kilter having it there.

    I did not really see this as a single flower shot but when i started to play with it it turned into a 1 and a half.

    I started this year with the determination to improve composition and colours. Still a ways to go but i am getting there.

    Brian, loved the composition, Colors are great. Further, I would have wanted to smoothen the petals' texture to get better Color blend. Would've preffered little more bookeh on the leaves in the background to avoid them distracting us.
    However, a beautiful image...

    I could change the background but not sure how to smooth the petals.
