a poor shot but it does show Landoy our most excellent gardener.

Landoy has worked for and with us for 7 years. With the simplest of tools he has created our vision of the garden/temple we now live in. This latest project should take no more than 2 or 3 years to get the basics right. And of course there will be a never ending vista of new shooting opportunities.

Donald and Griddi, it is exciting. for years now I have been saying that we need a pond, maybe a small waterfall, definitely a place for dragonflies, turtles and maybe some tasty fish. That is what this will become over the next year or two. the 'hole' as it has so aptly been named is much bigger than is shown in the shot.

It will be about 40 yards long and 20 yards wide. But with all of the contours and curves maybe as little as 600 sq. yards? At its deepest, where the waterfall may go it will be about 8 yards deep. With the angle of the land (we are on the side of a sleeping volcano) it will shallow out to 1 or two yards deep.

Should provide me with lots of photography potential.

And of course it will be electric wheelchair/tricycle accessible.

We have been working on the landscaping for almost 15 years. I don't think of it as a massive project but simply as good stewardship.

And this is the sleeping beasty we sleep on. We are about 390 meters above sea level and 4 kilometres up from Valencian as the road twists.

this will give you a better idea of terrain and location

Thanks Brian, it was Mayon, to the north of where you are, that I managed to get a good picture of some years ago.

    8 yards deep? 24 ft? That's not a pond, that's a full blown lake.

i may have phrased that poorly. The walls will be about 24' the depth of the pond about 1 meter.
