Excellent
I wonder if it would have even more impact with a little less sky? But I really do mean a little, not too much.
Would that mean having a different size ratio or could you also lose a similar amount from the left side?
Cool shot, looks like a game of king of the hill.
Gorgeous image. I like Geoff's crop suggestion keeping all the figures (seen by moving around in the lyte box) because for me it portrays a sense of mystery and increase the perception of the steepness of the sand dune, and emphasizes the lines in the sand.
Good composition, Ashish, I like the way the lines lead up the dune to the sunset. I wonder if you toned down the land in the background (left of frame) it would make the line of the dune there stand out a little more.
Will this be too dusty for cameras to take? Love the composition.
Love it, I agree with reducing the amount of sky.
Cheers Ole
Nice shot Ashsih - I'm like you and tend to stick to either full size images or do crops that are "standard", most of the the time. Every so often I come upon a situation like this one where a standard crop does not work and an non-standard results in a stronger image. It's a bit more of an issue for me if I want to frame a print and standard sized frames tend to be less expensive than custom ones. Even there I sometimes "cheat" by cutting custom mat to fit a standard frame and use a non-standard opening in the mat to handle the image. If the image is not printed, standard sizes don't matter at all.
I'm with the rest of the people who fee that a bit of a crop of the sky would improve this image.
Hi Ashish,
If this were mine, I'd lose some sky and I'd crop a little off the bottom edge, so the ridge line goes in to the lower right corner.
I might even try a subtle boost of saturation to enhance the sky.
