    Monochrome Mini Competition #27

Since the aim of these is to get you taking and submitting photos, let see if it can also encourage people to post monochrome (black and white) images, even if that's not in their normal photography 'diet'.

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post MONOCHROME images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture) (Click the "Go Advanced" button)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forum

    Going for a rest

This was shot on a cold blustery day at Porthcawl in South Wales. The two people were heading for the shelter as it was starting to rain.

Larry doesn't work here any more.

Shot just around the corner from where we currently are. This building has been sitting like this for as long as we have been coming to Martinborough, which is 5 years + now. Larry evidently closed up shop well before that, judging by the 5 digit phone number.

I really like this one. The blown highlights in the sky are a little distracting but otherwise a very dramatic shot. Hope to see more.

Thanks Wendy, it was a little difficult balancing the dark and light areas while maintaining the drama. I may have another go with some layers to see if I can improve. The location is a few miles from me, so easy to try the same at another time with another sky.
I do have difficulty deciding what will look good in Black & White though. Maybe there are some 'rules' I've missed?
