    after the storm

Thursday was a day of intermittent but intense rain showers, I could hear the rain on the roof of the building i was working in. Then I stepped out of the office at the end of the day and was greeted by light that was softened by the moisture in the air and creating such an atmosphere that it was almost surreal. The storm was accompanied by a warm front, which combined with the cooling of the evening created a steamy, rising ground fog. I'm not sure I've experienced anything quite like it. I managed to get a couple of shots from a spot adjacent to my office building, just grateful I had my camera with me.

    Hi Chris,

Glad you chose a view that suited the situation.

Nicely done (that's the third time that has been said)

The only suggestion I have is that the composition might have stood having a little more foreground grass in - but not if that meant including a parking lot

They are rare conditions, good to see you made the most of it.

    Cheers, Dave

    Re: after the storm

Thanks all for the kind remarks!
Dave - that particular image is cropped on the bottom and far right a bit to cut out a bit of street and curb that was in the frame. Here is another view, same focal length with no crop but taken while standing on the grass to eliminate the bits of street. The images were taken about 1 minute apart but already some of the intensity of the scene had started to change as the clouds broke up and such. This was a very fleeting moment, f/8 and be there rules! Though to be honest, this was not shot at f/8

    Re: after the storm

I would go with the second image.

Possibly a slight tweak to increase the highlights but hold the shadows might bring back the little bit of intensity which has been lost since the first shot.
