    One man and his dog...

I posted a couple of images yesterday: Dawn, Docks & Dogs

There were a few comments on the composition of the man/dog being to far away from each other... here is another shot I took literally seconds before the other two.

I am happy to admit the people in that thread were right, I think this composition is a lot stronger.

    Thanks

Subjects are still too small for this composition, also they are getting lost in the dark horizon. The sky and foreground is good; just a bit too much sand.

I like this shot, Matt. The clean background is a huge improvement. To get this gentleman and his dog out of the horizon, it's a quick adjustment just to move them down and to the right, and then let a modest crop provide a slight magnification.

The man and his dog are rather small but I rather like the fact that they are additional to the main landscape scene and not the main attraction.

    Possibly a different title though?

Thanks all, the man and his dog aren't meant to be the main subject of the image just a small part.

I don't really think enough about the titles, its normally the first thing that pops into my head

Anyway, I have raised the shadows on the background slightly:

Matt, these are wonderful and impressive. I did recognize that the man and the dog were not meant to be the main subject. Its hard to find fault with #6 but if I had to, at full scale, the man looks cut-and-pasted onto the photo whereas the dog looks correctly grounded in the scene. Perhaps it is because the dog's feet are in a shadow whereas the man seems to be walking on air. Maybe a small extension of the shadow in that area would address this and also might draw attention back to the whole photo and less to the man. My 2 cents. - Sam

I like the colour of this image, Matt...I am with Sam in his thoughts here (+1, Sam). if not for the title, there would probably more nicer opinion than the man and his dog. I like the new edit better..
